About Tamra
With over 40 years of experience in both corporate and nonprofit organizations, I am prepared to work for you as Mason County Auditor: ensuring fair elections, making county resources accessible, and bringing back integrity.
Dedicated to Mason County
I moved to Mason County in 2007 as a single parent with two daughters. In 2011 I moved to Lake Limerick as a renter, and since 2014 I have been a homeowner. Living in Mason County gave me the opportunity to build a forever space for my family and raise my daughters in a community that values leadership and service to others. They are now a registered behavior technician working with autistic children and a detective with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department. I am grateful for the opportunities Mason County gave me and hope to continue this possibility for others.
Diverse Work Experience
My work experience is broad and provides me with a multitude of skills to use as Auditor. I worked with United Way of Mason County (UWMC) and United Way of Kitsap County (UWKC) for a combined 15 years, serving as Executive Director (UWMC), Director of Resource Development & VolunteerKitsap, and Campaign Director (UWKC). I possess extensive experience managing and staffing outreach and awareness activities, administering community grants, providing customer service, coordinating events, overseeing fundraising and marketing activities, and leading volunteer teams. Additionally, I have served as a crime victim advocate.
In July 2021, after 20 years in Telecom and 20+ years in nonprofit management, I decided to retire and rewire. Within two months, I found myself ready to learn again. I started working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management that fall and ultimately graduated in 2025. Pursuing my educational goals gave me a new drive to serve and I want to apply my knowledge to the role of Auditor.
Currently I am a Program Support Specialist with New Horizon Communities, a movement of tiny home villages in Mason, Thurston, and Pierce counties. The work we do advocating for housing for people of all incomes is critical and continues to uplift and inspire me.
Committed to Service
I am passionate about servant leadership and have modeled that behavior throughout my career. No matter who you are or where you come from, we are connected. By bringing different strengths to the table, we create a better society and environment for all to thrive.
